Welcome to the webpage of Assembly #17, an assembly of the society of american magicians. we are an active group that share our love and interest in the art of magic. OUR ASSEMBLY IS NAMED AFTER DR. I.R. CALKINS, WHO WAS NOT ONLY A SPRINGFIELD PHYSICIAN, BUT ALSO AN OLYMPIC MEDAL WINNER IN THE PISTOL AND RIFLE MARKSMANSHIP COMPETITION. HE WAS NOT ONLY PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY, HE WAS ALSO NATIONAL PRESIDENT of the S.A.M. 1936 - 1937.
